Scientific-research activity of the Bijeljina University is performed in accordance with the law and the Statute of the higher education institution, and the Rulebook on scientific-research work of the Bijeljina University.

Within the scientific research activity, the Bijeljina University operates in the direction of:

• development of science and harmonization of study programs with the latest scientific achievements;
• encouraging the development of students talented for scientific research;
• realization of scientific cooperation in the country and the environment;
• provision of equipment and scientific information documentation;
• making decisions on keeping scientific journals, as well as organizing scientific gatherings / conferences / symposiums;
• taking other measures and activities for the systematic improvement of scientific research;
• performing other tasks related to the scientific activity of the University.
