Objectives of the study program

TRAIN A STUDENT TO :

The main goal of the study program is to transfer the latest scientific and professional knowledge and skills in the field of agroeconomics that would enable profitable agricultural production and food industry by exploiting renewable natural resources, with environmental protection, preservation of rural resources and cultural heritage.

Basically, this study program aims to modify the education system in accordance with the Bologna Process, ie to gradually enable its students to be included in the European higher education area and to implement the European common agricultural policy.

The basic orientation of the study program is to promote European cooperation in quality assurance with an emphasis on the development of compatible criteria and methods of study. This means accepting the European dimension in higher education, inter-institutional cooperation and mobility, as well as integrated processes of study and research in the field of agroeconomics.

In all years of study, activities are focused on independent and self-initiated research and informing students in the field of agro-economic profession, creating awareness of the need for permanent education and critical access to offered or available information.

These goals will be achieved gradually, by modernizing teaching using modern interactive methods, focusing on active and creative learning, acquiring practical and applied knowledge, all of which will contribute to more efficient study.

The concrete results that the study program should achieve in the coming period are the formation of experts who will be able to join the European agro-economic aspects of agricultural production and food industry and provide a basis for constant control and improvement of the study program.

The objectives of the study program are specific, achievable given the available resources, and more closely define the educational and other activities of this higher education institution, including its overall agroeconomic activity. Respect for the principles of professional ethics and work on their affirmation with other team members.

In order to achieve these educational goals during their studies, in addition to traditional lectures, students also have access to various types of teaching methods, such as:

  • interactive communication in the teaching process;
  • lectures illustrated with slides and videos,
  • small group work;
  • seminar papers in which students present a specific topic and their suggestions for problem solving;
  • problem-oriented workshops where true or simulated situations are presented and students analyze and try to find a solution;
  • demonstration of skills;
  • research paper.

All forms of active teaching are based on interactive teaching which is characterized by discussions about the problem that is the topic of the teaching unit, presenting a personal attitude supported by theoretical or experiential argumentation, noticing dilemmas which relate to the set topic and their resolution. Interactive teaching, as a modern method of teaching, will enable students to better understand the program material, acquire knowledge, form their own attitudes and adopt existing scientific doctrines.
