The outcome of the learning process

Outcome of the learning process: 

After mastering the study program of the Integrated Academic Study of Pharmacy, students acquire competencies for the application of theoretical knowledge, skills and standards of professional communication during the performance of professional and scientific activities.

1. The program content of this study will enable students

  • Chemical structure of medicinal substances (synthetic, semi-synthetic and natural origin)

  • Properties of excipients for the production of drugs and dietary preparations

  • Technological procedures and equipment for main, galenic and industrial production of medicinal and dietary preparations

  • Pharmacological action of medicinal substances

  • methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis in pharmacy

  • methods of pharmaceutical analysis and drug control

  • principles of rational phytotherapy

  • principles of proper nutrition as factors in maintaining health

  • drug interactions, side effects and toxic effects

  • principles of action of the organism on the drug

  • knowledge of legislation and requirements ICH, FDA, USP, Ph. Eur.

  • principles of health promotion and disease prevention;

b)      Application of knowledge and skills:

  • operational use of analytical techniques and methods

  • independent performance of qualitative and quantitative analysis in pharmacy

  • assessment and interpretation of laboratory test data

  • safe handling of chemical and pharmaceutical materials

  • risk forecasting for pharmaceutical procedures and practices

  • production of magistral and galenic medicinal and dietary preparations

  • participation in teams for performing / monitoring and improving the process of production of medicinal, dietary products and medical devices

  • recognizing the basic symptoms and signs of the disease

  • knowledge of possible and recognition of symptoms of interactions, side effects and toxic effects of drugs

  • ability to communicate with patients, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and the public

  • planning, designing and working on research projects

c)      Demonstrates the ability to:

  • generates and critically evaluates information and data

  • learns independently and plans his own training

  • uses professional literature

  • successfully works independently and as a team

  • successfully performs work tasks

  • recognizes and solves problems

  • makes decisions and sets goals for health care.

2. Specific outcomes of the learning process

Students should build and improve:

  • Relationship with patients and colleagues - professional relationship with patients and colleagues, without prejudices, in relation to language, culture, gender, race and lifestyle,
  • Professional standards: awareness of moral and ethical responsibility in work; awareness that they should always strive for the highest possible quality in work; awareness of the importance of health, treatment and prophylaxis.
  • The pharmaceutical profession, which in turn contributes to the health of the watchmaker through better treatment and better and more effective prevention.
