In order to achieve these educational goals during their studies, in addition to traditional lectures, students have access to various types of teaching methods such as:
- interactive communication in the teaching process;
- lectures illustrated with slides and video clips,
- small group work;
- seminar papers in which students present a specific topic and their suggestions for solving problems;
- problem-oriented workshops where truths or simulated situations are presented and students analyze and try to find a solution;
- demonstration of skills; (access to the patient in the pharmacy, communication with healthcare professionals...)
- research work.
All forms of active teaching are based on interactive teaching which is characterized by discussions about the problem that is the topic of the teaching unit, presenting a personal position supported by theoretical or experiential argumentation, noticing dilemmas related to the topic and solving them. Interactive teaching, as a modern method of teaching, will enable students to better understand the program material, acquire knowledge, form their own attitudes and adopt existing scientific doctrines.
Clinical skills are performed by students independently or through demonstration of skills by teachers or associates. For each clinical skill, the level of student competence is defined:
- the student has only theoretical knowledge of the skill;
- the student observes the procedure, but does not perform it independently;
- the student performs the procedure under supervision;
- the student performs the procedure independently.
