Objectives of the study program

The main goal of the study program is to transfer the latest scientific and professional knowledge and skills in the field of agricultural production. Another important goal is the continuous comprehensive development of all aspects of agricultural production and the food industry based on modern principles and standards.

The study program aims to direct studies towards the acquisition of knowledge and skills needed for profitable agricultural production and food industry by exploiting renewable natural resources, while protecting the environment and conserving resources. rural areas.

One of the priority goals is the further development of the concept of student education that offers a complete expert ready for all the challenges of modern agricultural production, while creating conditions for acquiring specialist knowledge needed for competitive agriculture. production.

In this cycle of studies, not only theoretical but also practical knowledge relevant to the labor market is provided. Basically, this study program aims to modify the education system in accordance with the Bologna Process, ie to gradually enable its students to be included in the European higher education area.

The vision of the faculty is that in the future by gradually ensuring high quality European standards of study, contributing to the development of academic education, developing and improving research, influencing the practice and policy of agricultural production reach the level of developed European institution in its field. In all years of study, activities are aimed at awakening students' interest in agricultural production, referring to independent and self-initiated research and information, creating awareness of the need for continuing education in this profession, as well as directing students to a critical approach to offered or available information.

Orientation towards training students for independent work in the profession is reflected primarily through the offer of individual choice of subjects, if the adaptation of the study program not only to average or below average students, but also to the needs of the best and most capable students.

The concrete results that the study program should achieve in the coming period are the formation of experts who will be able to get involved in European flows of agricultural production and food industry and provide a basis for constant control and improvement; study program.

The goals of the study program are specific, achievable given the available resources, and more closely define the educational and other activities of this higher education institution. All activities of the faculty, and especially the development of study programs, are in accordance with the adopted mission and goals. The faculty periodically reviews its mission and goals, evaluating their purposefulness in the process of planning and allocating available resources.

In order to achieve these educational goals during their studies, in addition to traditional lectures, students also have access to various types of teaching methods, such as:

  • interactive communication in the teaching process;
  • lectures illustrated with slides and videos,
  • small group work;
  • seminar papers in which students present a specific topic and their suggestions for problem solving;
  • problem-oriented workshops where true or simulated situations are presented and students analyze and try to find a solution;
  • demonstration of skills;
  • research paper.

All forms of active teaching are based on interactive teaching which is characterized by discussions about the problem that is the topic of the teaching unit, presenting a personal attitude supported by theoretical or experiential argumentation, noticing dilemmas which relate to the set topic and their resolution. Interactive teaching, as a modern method of teaching, will enable students to better understand the program material, acquire knowledge, form their own attitudes and adopt existing scientific doctrines.
