Modern development of medical science and related disciplines, high technology, population growth in cities and general migration of the population have significantly influenced the way of life of modern man. The burdens that are therefore placed before the individual, the family and the entire community are reflected in health and health condition, and the organization of the health system. In the transitional years of the third millennium, the lists of the most common diseases are dominated by chronic non-communicable diseases, malignant diseases, trauma, but an increased number of new infectious diseases has also been noticed. High technological standards have been introduced in the process of treatment and health care. This is one of the main reasons that the education programs of the most numerous staff in the health system, ie nurses, are moving towards the requirements of higher education, which is the standard in the education systems of developed countries.

Nursing studies are by type: academic studies of the first cycle (the degree Bachelor) lasting 180 ECTS credits, by type: full-time, and by place of performance: education conducted at the headquarters.
