Activities of the Psychological Research Laboratory

PRL INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

Individual scientific research projects (graduate theses, master's theses, doctoral theses), represent an important form of work of participants in PRL. These projects take place under the supervision of managers.
Individual consultations with mentors, experts and associates of PRL that will be organized for PRL participants according to their area of interest and for the purpose of realization of their individual project.
The seminar explications aim to provide PRL members with the practice of presenting their own research in a form that is functionally pedagogical, but can also be research.
Graduate explications aim to provide PRL members with a preliminary or control evaluation of their work before that work becomes a completed document for the thesis defense committee.
The master explications aim to provide postgraduate students with a presentation and critical evaluation of their projects.
Doctoral explications will aim to provide doctoral students with the opportunity to present the concept of their work, its evaluation in scientific circles in the field in which they work.
LPI participants should be able to visit scientific research institutes in the country and abroad, in order to join the network of scientists and integrated projects.
Participation in symposia, conferences and congresses aims to enable PRL participants to present their research work in the presence of competent scientists.

PRL JOINT ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME

Team projects in which students, assistants and young researchers can apply for holders or for members of the project team.
Team consultations are a form of interactive work of PRL participants in which it is possible to look at aspects of the interdisciplinarity of a research project, as well as open opportunities for the application of a consortium of research methods.
PRL sessions will be held at least once a month and will provide periodic reviews of activities, evaluations of individual phases of project implementation and agreements on participation in new projects.
Publishing the results of scientific research is a form of the greatest interest for the work of PRL, because in that way students, assistants and young researchers come in a position to get a public critical evaluation of their work and gain the necessary references for their future work.
Participation of PRL participants in scientific research projects in the Republic of Srpska, the region and beyond.

THE FUTURE WORK OF PRL

The first scientific research PRL based on UBN will be included in the network of scientific research laboratories in neighboring countries and in the countries of the European Union, through directly established cooperation with institutes and universities where research laboratories have been formed and are already operating.
In this way, PRL participants will get in touch with researchers in the same scientific field in the wider environment and have the opportunity to create criteria of competencies and standards in scientific research work on the basis of which they should participate in creating a knowledge-based society.
In the distant future, PRL will aim to equip a small laboratory that will deal with research in the field of neuroscience.
PRL at UBN will organize a scientific-professional meeting at least once a year where the results of the latest research in the field of Psychology and similar and related sciences will be presented, with participants from the immediate and wider environment.

Involvement of young researchers in scientific networks and integrated projects
Through cooperation with scientific research laboratories, but also incubators in neighboring countries and in the European Union, PRLat UBN will be included in the networks of excellence formed within the 6th and 7th Framework Program of the EU science.
Cooperation with PRLat the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.

After the preliminary talks with its manager, we emphasize the planned cooperation with PRL at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, which is called the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology (LEP).
Professor Dr. Predrag Ognjenović, its founder and long-term manager, gathered a group of young enthusiastic associates in the 1970s, then undergraduate students who would later become prominent professors and scientists. Thus, the first research team was formed, which will be joined by numerous new associates over time.
The so-called Laboratory for Experimental Psychology (LEP) at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade has become an official scientific institution of the Faculty of Philosophy that has a research and teaching function and has produced renowned professors, including Dejan Todorovic, Aleksandar Kostic (the only psychologist member of SANU), Suncica Zdravkovic. Slobodan Markovic and others.
Since 1995, the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology and the Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade have been organizing the scientific conference Empirical Research in Psychology once a year.
Within this scientific gathering, the Section for the Psychology of Art, which originated from the Psychology of Perception, is regularly represented and very well attended.
One of these directions is the examination of good form and golden section. Such experimental research aimed to specify the stimuli that determine the preference of simple forms, assemblies, and configurations. The second direction concerns the examination of crossmodal correspondence. These include experimental research of the classical gestalt taketa - the maluma of the phenomenon, where the taketa is associated with acute angles, and the maluma with round shapes. The effects of auditory and musical stimuli on the experience of visual scenes were also examined.
The third direction concerns experimental examinations of the attractiveness of the human face and body.
Certainly, the mentioned directions do not cover all numerous researches, and their citation and attempt of classification would take a lot of space and time.

Some research from the mentioned categories, ie similar to them, will be performed in the PRL at UBN, at least in the beginning.
PRL at UBN will bring together students of all levels of study (undergraduate, master's and doctoral), young researchers, associates, teachers and anyone interested in experimental research.
